CK LMS: Managing Individuals

A visionary, a coach, an organizer… A good manager is all of these things: his or her job is a real balancing act. But one of a manager’s main jobs, if not THE main job, is to explain corporate strategy to the team and ensure that it is taken on board and implemented in order to achieve set goals. By explaining what the strategy means, he’ll get people on board all the more easily. Managers have to know how to communicate, mobilise people, motivate them, run teams and meetings, make decisions, delegate, monitor achievement, give praise, enhance responsibility, and move teams forward. Their aim should be to boost performance via appropriate management techniques adapted to situations and individuals.


  • Managers should not limit themselves to the single style of management they feel most comfortable with. To be efficient they need to learn how to tailor their style to the different people they are managing, particularly according to their degree of independence.
    This session begins with a definition of what 'independence' means, and then explains which style is best suited to each level of independence.
